Molly McLain is in the Author Spotlight

I’m excited to introduce you to someone I met through my editor and who actually lives close to me!  I’m proud to call her my friend and I hope she feels the same way!  Please join me in welcoming Molly McLain.

Hey everyone! I’m Molly McLain, author of super steamy small to ]]>

So, as I mentioned, I write love stories about the guys and girls next door. My first series, River Bend, follows a group of friends from a little town along the Platte River in Nebraska. The men are all hard-working and muscle-bound and their women are independent, outspoken, and the very thing that brings these sexy guys to their knees. Currently, I have four full novels in that series, as well as a couple novellas and short stories. You can check them out on my website here: http://www.mollymclain.com

My second series, Velocity, just kicked off in March with FLY, the book I’m giving away a copy of today! FLY features a hot motocross superstar who’s just come to realize he’s in love with his best friend, Taylor, a girl he left behind in Wisconsin. The Velocity Series will be, of course, super sexy, focusing on different extreme sports (race car driving, snowboarding, etc.) and I can’t tell you how excited I am to be working on such fast-paced, edge-of-your-seat stories!

Today, I’m sharing a little chat I happened to have with FLY hero, Colton Wade, while he was home in Wisconsin recently. *wink wink* Here’s how it went…

Me: Thanks for meeting me today, Col. I know you have busy schedule right now, the peak of the free-style motocross season being upon us and all.

Colton: Yep. I just got back from Europe and now we’re gearing up for the big L.A. event. My circuit sponsor, High Octane, is based out of California, so L.A. is our home crowd, you know? I’m super pumped about hanging out with and performing for the local fans again.

Me: I bet! It’s obvious you love what you do. How the heck did a small town guy like you get into something as wild as FMX?

Colton: My dad had a friend whose son rode. We went to a race one weekend and I’ve been on a bike ever since. Definitely helped knowing someone in the business, that’s for sure. A small town kid like me would’ve never had a shot otherwise.

Me: I don’t know. I’ve seen you ride and pretty good at what you do. Don’t short-change yourself–you’ve paved your own way and the fans love you.

Colton: *shrugs* I guess.

Me: Come on now. Don’t play shy. You’re one the most beloved FMX riders right now. If it’s not because you’re good, what’s the reason?

Colton: Because I’m good-looking? *winks*

Me: *laughs* You’re not hurting for female attention, that’s for sure.

Colton: Yeah, well…

Me: Well what?

Colton: *looks around guiltily* Not all of that attention is appreciated.

Me: That’s awfully cryptic.

Colton: *sighs* I know. Look, can we not talk about it?

Me: Sure, but if you have something on your mind, talking it out might help.

Colton: *snorts* Unless you have some kind of time machine that can take me back and keep me from being a total screw-up, I doubt it you can do anything to help.

Me: Are you by any chance talking about what happened with Taylor?

Colton: You know about that, huh?

Me: I know more about you than you think.

Colton: *rolls his eyes* My relationship with Taylor isn’t–nor will it ever be–for public consumption. I won’t do that her.

Me: So you’re saying there’s something between the two of you?

Colton: As far as I’m concerned, yeah. I’m not sure she’d say the same.

Me: From what I hear, you really messed up. How do you plan to rectify that? I mean, I assume you’re going to try, right? Taylor’s your best friend.

Colton: I’m giving her the space she asked for.

Me: Oh, Colton. Tell me you don’t honestly thinks that’s what she wants…

Colton: *frowns* Of course, it is. She said it was.

Me: Maybe, but I’m willing to bet that what she really wanted was to see how you’d react. More to point, how hard you’d fight for her.

Colton: I’ll always fight for her.

Me: Is that what you’re doing now? Because it looks to me that you’re wasting time with me…when you could be with her.

Colton: *blinks* Wait–has she talked to you about this?

Me: All the time.

Colton: Shit. *rubs his jaw* You really think she’s testing me?

Me: I think she’s waiting for you to make the next move.

Colton: *stands and pulls his phone out* Sorry to call this short, but something just came up. I’ve gotta run.

Me: *smiles* You’d better run fast.

–FLY Blurb–

Meet Colton Wade, FMX rider…

I’m just a small town guy who caught a lucky break. Now I’m living the dream, on the brink of high-flying super-stardom. But something’s missing.

That something is Taylor.

She’s my best friend. The one who makes me want to push harder and higher. The one I fall back on when shit gets tough. The one I’d give it all up for.

I’d do anything to protect her. To make her dreams come true too.

But a single night changes everything.

And now the one she needs protection from…is me.

FLY is the first book in a duo. FIGHT, its sequel, is due out on May 17th. Check it out to see how Colton redeems himself!

  2. Thanks for this chance!! My favorite sport is sporting clays!! Love being able to do sporting clays with my dad and grandpa.

  3. This sounds like a wonderful read. I’m a sports fanatic so I love all sports. However, Derek Better is my oh so yummy eye candy oh wait so is Aaron Rodgers. Than there is Rory McElroy I could keep going.

  4. My favorite sport(s) to watch are soccer and rugby, but my favorite true-life sports hero is an American football player – Seattle Seahawk Russell Wilson (fiance, notwithstanding.) 🙂

    • I’ve never watched rugby, though I’ve heard it isn’t for the faint of heart. I’ll have to try to catch it on tv. Good choice on the true-life sports hero. 😉

      • I’m a patriot through and through. Gotta support my home team! And he’s a good guy.
