Finish Line is coming soon.

Book two of the Bluegrass Security Series is releasing on August 20th. Finish Line is the story of Stevie Jorgenson (you met Stevie last month if you read PJ’s newsletter), and Mac McKenzie. Stevie is the Chandler County detective and Mac is one of the owners of Bluegrass Security.

It starts out as a one night stand until Mac takes a security job for Stevie’s father’s nemesis, then things get tense. The book is filled with action, suspense and steamy bits.

Early reviews from arc readers are coming in and they’re good!

Sue Payton gave it 5 stars:

“Sam and Stevie was a great book. Kentucky and race horses are the theme. Horses are being poisoned and Stevie’s dad has a mare to be in the Derby has been poisoned. They meet each other in a bar and the attraction begins. Sam is part owner in the security business. There is a lot of heat, a beautiful dog named Ammo and action.”

“This is the first book I read in this series and I loved it. Both Mac and Stevie have been hurt bad in the past. That leaves them expectant. She is a smart detective he is a badass part owner of a security firm .They met, they click. The rural setting I find very attractive and I love the horses. The suspense is great. I am definitely reading the first book too.”

Racing for the finish line has never had higher stakes.

After 25 years in the military, Sam (Mac) McKenzie, decides to plant roots and build his Bluegrass Security business in small town Kentucky. He’s looking forward to an easy pace enjoying his sweet home on Fire Lake. An even sweeter woman would make life perfect.

Bourbon loving Detective Stevie Jorgenson has never been described as sweet, and she’s not looking to settle down, but she’s more than willing for a hot night of fun with the tall drink of water that just walked into her favorite bar.

Mac and Stevie’s fling becomes so much more when prize thoroughbreds start dying days before the Kentucky Derby—including her father’s. When the killer shifts focus, they must depend on each other both professionally and personally in the desperate race to discover who is behind the increasingly deadly sabotage.
