Resolutions?

Open Book StampWelcome and thank you for joining us here at Open Book Blog Hop.  This week, we’re talking about resolutions and whether or not we make them.

I don’t make resolutions anymore. Why?  Because I always fail to keep them.  I have the best intentions, I really do.  And I usually make resolutions because there is a need in my life for change.  But, change is hard and keeping up with something until it becomes habit is really hard.  My life is so busy right now that trying to change one more thing seems like I’m trying to climb a mountain in flip-flops.

That being said, over the past couple of years I’ve gained a few pounds and I don’t necessarily enjoy these new pounds that I’ve found.  My clothes don’t fit well, I refuse to buy bigger ones and I’m more lethargic.  So, the only resolution I have, if you call it that, is to continue with my weight loss goal of losing 15 pounds.  I have a decent start on changing my diet, which is the only way I’ll lose weight, and the past two days I’ve hit the 10,000 step goal on my fitbit.  So, I’ll try to continue meeting my step goal and eating less with portion control and less snacking.

What about you?  Do you make resolutions?  If so, what are they?  Please share and then let’s go and see what my fellow hoppers have for resolutions, if any.

  1. Well done for refusing to buy bigger clothes! I have to walk a few miles every day to make sure my clothes still fit.

  2. Interesting question PJ. I do enjoy a good resolution, but I don’t make them about weight loss, or any of the usual resolutions that people make this time of year. My resolutions usually center around a hobby I’d like to improve on or subject I’d like to learn about. I usually hit the mark, but with this kind of resolution, you don’t have that taste of failure in your mouth at the end of the year. Happy New Year!
