Chandler County

‘Chandler County, where the unbridled spirit of romance roams’

My friend, Stephany Tullis, and I have created a world situated between Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky, named Chandler County.  We’ve invited fellow authors whom we admire to join us in Chandler County by writing their own stories.  We’ll have two Chandler County releases each year and our very first one releases beginning April 11, 2017.  We’re excited for you to read about Chandler County through our stories and hope you love it as much as we do.  After all, there’s something for everyone in Chandler County.

Levi Jacobson spent 25 years serving his country in the Army. After his fiancée and the love of his life sent him a Dear John letter telling him she was marrying his best friend, he dug into his career with a vengeance, marching up the ranks to Major, right after vowing to stay away from women. Now retired from the military, and managing his security firm in Sapphire Falls, he can finally spend his days as he wants, earn a bit of money and enjoy small town life.

Sage Reynolds joined the Army at 18 to escape her small hometown and finally live her life as the woman she was – a tomboy. She excelled in everything Army; shooting, interrogation and surveillance. When her father became sick, she found herself back home in the small town she’d left as a teenager. A year later, her father gone, she needs a job and preferably in the big city. Overdue bills and no prospects force her to accept a job in Sapphire Falls for a man who is sexist, obnoxious and terribly attractive.

Levi and Sage need each other, at least as far as business is concerned. But, can they ignite a spark on a personal level?

Sam McKenzie has everything he needs in his professional life. Bluegrass Security is going strong, he just purchased a home for the first time in his life, he even got himself a dog. Personally, however, life was a bit unsettled. His growing crush on Stevie Jorgenson was unrequited – he just didn’t know why. She seemed to enjoy spending time with him, he’d caught her staring more than once, but yet, she seemed wary to take it to the next level.

Stevie Jorgenson had worked her entire life trying to step from the shadow of her wealthy family, including the family horse business. Excelling at the police academy and then making detective in Chandler County had been hard work. Now, her growing attraction to Sam McKenzie was beginning to shade her with its shadow. The trouble was his biggest client was her father’s rival in business and that could make things messy. The other issue was his client was also a dirty dealer and she had to uphold the law. How can they make it on opposite sides of the track?
