My first look into PJ Fiala and I am hooked! This audiobook was a quick listen and it may have been quicker because I just couldn’t stop listening! Tory Duran and Rise Dioro brought these characters to life. Falcon Montgomery a grumpy operative that meets an EMT (Kori) while in the middle of a gun fight. Kori is more interested in helping Falcon than she is with her own safety. Flacon works with RAPTOR with other injured veterans to help protect the innocent and their current “job” leads to an interesting connection with Kori. It seems their goals overlap on this job and they need to trust each other and work together to save innocent women. Kori has a complicated past that has led her to try to help anyone who needs it even when she’s not working as an EMT. She’s used to running into danger to help others without much thought to her safety but Falcon wants to change that. Falcon and Kori need to work together but that forced proximity could lead to the realization that they have a connection that can’t be denied. This was a great audiobook and I’m looking forward to going back to the beginning of the series to learn more about the world of RAPTOR! Trigger warning: If you’re sensitive to human trafficking and/or kidnapping then this one might hit close to home. It was tastefully addressed but it is a large plot point.

I think this may be my favorite RAPTOR book so far. A broody, grumpy hero who falls head over heels always gets me. Falcon is strong, protective and determined to do his part to rid the world of evil. Kori is also a strong, determined, protective survivor also fighting the world’s evil, and who prickles all Falcon’s deep protective instincts. These two are perfect for each other. The emotions in this book are raw; and you have action, danger, and mystery to mix with it. And of course a HEA for this couple as she’s adopted into Falcon’s and the RAPTOR family. And of course the narration is terrific from Rose and Troy.

This is Falcon’s story. He meets Kori when he gets injured trying to take down Dildo and Kori being an EMT comes to help him. There is an instant connection. Kori not only works as an EMT but she also tries to save the women who are being trafficked. When she becomes the target of some angry pimps Falcon and his team come to protect her. An Insta love, steamy romance with a bit of action thrown in. Great story with wonderful characters.

Loved it when I read it and love it more listening to it. Really love just relaxing and listening to the narrators give these characters a voice and tell the story in an entertaining way.
