Maryann Jordan talks the Semper Fi Fund

I met Maryann Jordan about a year and a half ago in a group we are in together on Facebook.  We were also previously in a box set together and what I’ve learned about her is she is sweet, kind, smart, creative and compassionate.  I’m very excited to be working with Maryann again and thrilled she’s on my blog.  And now, meet Maryann.

Being a full time author is actually my third career.  I worked in special education after college and then was an adolescent counselor for about 25 years after earning my master’s degree in counseling.  Working with teens and families was a dream come true and many of their situations and emotions come through in my stories.

After 9-11, I had a group of young men, all friends since pre-school, who joined the Marines after they graduated from high school.  They trained and served together, even being interviewed by our local newspaper for their dedication to their friendship and their country.

But after a couple of tours, the group came back, fighting the demons that often plague our young servicemen…PTSD, loss of limbs, and even loss of life.  One of them, Chris, now a leg amputee, has made it his new career to work with other wounded veterans.  He is a tribute to what a difference one person can make and I am so proud that this boxed set will donate all the proceeds to the Semper Fi Fund.  This fund is one that he supports and having done my research, I can understand why.

I am so excited to be a part of this boxed set with the amazing authors that I now call my friends.  And I am thrilled to be able to tell Chris how much we will be able to donate to the Semper Fi Fund.

I love my third career…writing and sharing stories is a dream come true for me.  The book I have included in the boxed set is about a former Special Forces soldier who joins with some of his squad members once they leave the military and form a security firm.  Marked by a particular mission they were on, he struggles when he comes face to face with his fears as he races to save the woman he falls for…and her younger brother.

As an Award Winning and  International Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo Best Selling Author, I have always been an avid reader. I joke that I “cut my romance teeth” on the old historical romance books. I’ve written as a hobby for over 30 years.  In 2014, I finally gave in to the characters in my head pleading for their story to be told. Thus, Emma’s Home was created.

My first novel, Emma’s Home became an Amazon Best Seller in 3 categories within the first month of publishing. Its success was followed by the rest of the Fairfield Series and then led into the Love’s Series.  From there I have continued with the romantic suspense Alvarez Security Series and now the Saints Protection & Investigation Series.

My books are filled with sweet romance and hot sex; mystery, suspense, real life characters and situations. My heroes are alphas, take charge men who love the strong, independent women they fall in love with.

I worked as a counselor in a high school and have been involved in education for the past 30 years.  I recently retired and now can spend more time devoted to my writing.

I have been married to a wonderfully patient man for 35 years and have 2 adult, very supportive daughters.

When writing, my dog or one of my cats will usually be found in my lap!
