Authors4Veterans

I’ve been excited to announce this but waited until we had things rolling along.  My fellow author and friend, Stacey Joy Netzel, and I have formed a not-for-profit corporation named, Authors4Veterans, Inc.  Our intention is to run fundraising events for our service members and their families.

Stacey and I both have or have had children who serve and deployed with various branches of the military.  As military families, we often feel like we can’t do enough to support our military and sitting home waiting for word from your family member, sucks.  So, Authors4Veterans, Inc. was born.

For our first fund raiser, we’re supporting Fisher House Foundation – Milwaukee.

Fisher House is an amazing charity and as we move along in this journey, we’re hearing from our participating authors, their experiences with Fisher House.

We’re filling 30 Thirty-One thermal bags with books, swag, comfort items and snacks. Stacey and I will personally deliver these bags to Fisher House Milwaukee on November 17th.  These bags will be given to families staying at Fisher House while their service member is receiving medical treatment.  Fisher House Milwaukee has 16 rooms available but they change out residents, so those residents in attendance will receive bags that day while the remaining bags will be given as families move in.

We’re also creating two extra bags to give away as reader gifts, so make sure you hop on over to our website and join the mailing list to be notified about the give away.  We also have a Facebook page, so pop over there too.  Hope to see you there.
