I’ve been trying to diet – which on any given day works or not. I’ve yet to find a diet I can stick with for a long period of time. I either get tired of eating the same foods each day or I just get too hungry. But, I’ll keep trying.
Recently I’ve seen friends singing the praises of these Veggetti’s or spiral slicers. I didn’t think much of them one way or another until I went on my last diet and thought it might be a good way to still eat my favorite meal, spaghetti, and diet at the same time. Stop laughing.
So, I bought one of these handy little kitchen dealies (see below) and I spiralized a zucchini and made my favorite sauce (with turkey instead of ground beef, see, trying to diet). It was delicious. The zucchini added a flavor to the spaghetti I’d never thought of and I felt super good that I was eating lighter and not starving myself. Plus about an hour after I ate, I didn’t feel miserable because the noodles always swell in my tummy and make me feel stuffed beyond humanly possible.
The following day I did it again and just used a light garlic olive oil and a bit of salt which was also very good. Give it a try, you’ll be surprised.
Looks delicious actually I am going to have to try this.
Terri, It’s so much better than we dreamed it would be. The zucchini gives it a flavor that noodles just don’t have.
I am sharing this with my sister as well. Can’t wait to try it.
I’ll have to try zucchini I usually substitute yellow squash instead of noodles.
Let me know what you think when you try it. I leave the skin on for color.
I’m definitely going to try this! Thanks for the info.
It’s better than we dreamed. No bloated feeling afterwards and tasty.
