That’s a great question. I had to think long and hard about this one. Some people find it easy to give out random advice. Sometimes, if its a subject I’m familiar with, I do too. But, lasting advice. Something that will stick with a person, now that’s the kind of advice I’d like to be known for giving.
I have been fortunate in my life to be acquainted with some super savvy business people and to be able to pick their brains. The Biker’s brother in law, Mark, owned Ben Franklin stores before he died. He ran a nice business and I valued his opinions.
The Biker is very business/money minded and always offers good advice when I need it. He’s always the first person I go to when I need advice. When it comes to dealing with difficult people, he’s a master at it. But, he has a different sense of humor than I do and his delivery is so much better when retorting with a sarcastic comment. From me it just comes off “bitchy” so, I have to refrain.
After mulling this over, I think it’s easy to say, the best advice I’ve ever been given was from my Grandma Ruth. I spent a lot of time with her growing up. I didn’t want to be home and she was a source of comfort and wisdom for me.
She said, “Life is not easy. When you fall, get back up, dust your britches off and do it better next time.” I’ve lived by those words my whole life and I’ll continue to do so for the remainder of my days.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given? Let’s help each other out by sharing. Then, let’s hope on over and see what my fellow bloggers have gotten as great advice.
Very good advice I’d say!
I agree!
Excellent advice. They say failure is not defined as not accomplishing your goal so much as quitting before you accomplish it.
So very true.
I think I would have liked your grandmother!
🙂 She would have liked you too!
